Here's the bet your ass predictions portion. Who do you think will win? Thiago Alves or Josh Koscheck? Koscheck just received a 2-week notice after Alves' original opponent Diego Sanchez was injured before the scheduled fight.

Instead of charging for takedown after takedown like Hughes did against Alves, "Kos" will be using his striking to set Alves to the grounds, making them harder to defend.

Alves' brawl game looked great against Hughes and it will be exciting to see if it was because his sprawl game was that good enough or if Matt Hughes was really bad. A fresher, quicker, more versatile wrestler like Koscheck is sure to let the world know just how exactly how good Alves really is.

Prediction: Alves via unanimous decision

Thiago "Pitbull" Alves has a great reputation as being one of the most ferocious Muay Thai strikers in MMA by sending 8 of his last ten opponents and winning six fights in a row by sending their chins to the canvass. In his previous fight, Alves made 9-time welterweight king Matt Hughes look like he was headed for retirement as Alves demolished him by TKO in round 2.

Alves has envisioned his next opponent Josh Koscheck as "a younger version of Matt Hughes." And while Koscheck is a monster wrestler like Hughes, a more relative comparison than Hughes would be fellow welterweight John Fitch, who handed Alves his last loss at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 5. Like Fitch, Koscheck is more than just a brawler looking to win in octagon with takedowns and ground and crush, he's a hands down well-rounded fighter who is always elevating his "A" game.
